Mike Harrison Testimonial
To whom it may concern:
I am writing this endorsement on behalf of Kenneth Jensen. I joined the 854th Eng Bn US Army Reserves in Feb 1975. Ken was Sgt at the time, and he took me under his wing. He gave me guidance and help in becoming a good soldier.
As time went on, I saw him do this with many new recruits coming into the unit whether we were in his duty section or not it was just Ken doing the right thing, helping people.
Working with Ken I saw how he treated people with respect and how well people respected him. He became the unit First Sgt where he became even more respected and liked not just in our unit but also by NCO’s and officers in other units.
He taught many of us how to take care of people and deal with many difficult situations that people had in their lives. Learning this from Ken helped me tremendously in my military career as time went on.
Ken and I became very close friends in the civilian world. Doing many things together, hunting, fishing and just being good family friends.
We helped each other and neighbors when they had problems of many types from broken cars to moving furniture to mowing lawns.
The traits I learned from Ken in the military I saw in him doing things in the community. We were always supporting different organizations with fund raisers even if we didn’t belong to that organization just because the group was part of the community.
Whenever Ken heard of a veteran needing help the call would go out and many of his friends would answer, again Ken taking care of people.
When families were in trouble in a bad way, he never judged them, he just asked what he could do to help. This was Ken throughout his life.
I hope this helps you in seeing what type of a person Ken was, a kind helpful person. Thank you for helping the Jensen family in any way possible.
